About Me

I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder based near Ashby Fields in Daventry and currently hold an Ofsted grade of good – you can find my inspection report link on the links page. I have been a childminder Since October 2003.

My husband Dave is a registered assistant and works with me. He offers a positive male role model to the children and the children enjoy being around him. Having Dave as my assistant means we are able to care for more children in our setting but still provide one on one when it is needed.

Both David and myself are CRB checked and hold full clean driving licences.

We offer childcare in a warm, friendly and secure home environment to children aged 0 to 11 years and pick up from Ashby Fields Primary school.

We have 2 children of our own, Morgan (born 29th November 1999) and Evelyn (born 21st May 2011).

We also have a cat called Maddie and 2 rabbits called Poppy and Dexter.

What is a Childminder?

Registered childminders work in their own homes, providing childcare for up to six children at any one time aged from birth to 8 years old (some childminders may care for children over 8 therefore they may have more than 6 children in their care at any one time). Many children stay with the same childminder for years – some well into secondary school. Registered childminders are usually self-employed and are inspected by Ofsted in England or the Care and the Social Services Inspectorate in Wales. All childminders and all members of the childminder’s household over the age of 16 must have received a satisfactory police check – the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Disclosure – before becoming registered. Many childminders work closely with other childminders so your childminder can suggest other childminders your child will already know to cover holidays or other time off such as illness.

Why choose a Childminder?

  • Quality, professional childcare service within a home environment
  • Children of different ages/siblings can be cared for together
  • Childminders can support families for years as children grow up
  • Flexible hours
  • Affordable
  • Childminders are part of the local community and can take children out and about on a regular basis
  • Childminders can adapt the care required for each individual child and can promote all areas of a child’s development
